Five teams representing the Trenton High School and Trenton Middle School FFCLA chapters received gold ratings at the State FCCLA Leadership Conference at the Lake of the Ozarks on March 11-13, with three of those teams qualifying for the National STAR Events competition on June 28-July 2 in Atlanta, GA. THS will be represented at the national level by Werthen Gass, who received a gold rating in Food Innovations, and the Life Event Planning Team of Sarah Jordan, Mykah Hurley and Salem Croy, which also earned a gold rating. The TMS National Digital Stories for Change Team of Delaney Franklin, Gracyn Rongey and Kammi Phillips earned a gold and a trip to the national competition. Receiving gold ratings, but not qualifying for the national contest, were the THS Food Innovations Team of Maci Henson and Balea Jeannoutot and the TMS National Programs team of Krysta McCullough and Maurissa Bonta.The TMS FCCLA also had four teams and one individual receive a silver rating, including Adroa Willey and Harley Hall in Advocacy; Eliana Cowling, Summer Martin and Savannah Triplet in Chapter Service Project Portfolio; Zoie McGowan, Kaylea Boyle and Ivy Foster in Focus on Children; Kelsey Gibler and Juliet Schmadeke in Food Innovations; and Kaylor Farris in Recycle and Redesign. Unmask Your Leadership POWERS” was the theme of the state convention. On Tuesday, March 13, Region 2 President Oakley Madden of Trenton hosted the regional meeting, along with officers Camryn Willey and McKenna Cox, also of Trenton. The middle school voting delegates were Gracyn Rongey and Delaney Franklin. The Trenton FCCLA advisors are Margaret Mollenhour, THS, and Suzi Beck, TMS.
