Representatives of NEXTEra Energy met with the Grundy County Commission on Tuesday, telling the group they are in the preliminary stages of looking at Grundy County and surrounding counties for a possible wind farm.
NEXTEra, headquartered in Juno Beach, FL, is the group that recently established a wind farm in DeKalb County. The commission was told that the company is doing preliminary studies to determine if a wind farm would be feasible in Grundy County. Representatives have been in north Missouri talking to officials from several counties about establishing wind farms and said they just wanted to introduce themselves to the commission and share a little information about their company.
