Marjorie L. Power, a 92-year-old resident of Trenton, died on Tuesday morning, Oct. 17, 2017 at Saint Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017 at the Church of Christ in Trenton with Dustin Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens, north of Trenton.
There is no scheduled family visitation at the Slater Funeral Home in Trenton.
The family will be at the home of Delores Newton at1903 Haddox St. in Trenton.
Mrs. Power was born on Sept. 16, 1925 in Trenton, the daughter of Harley and Blanche Elizabeth Brinser Newton. She graduated from Trenton High School. Before retiring she was employed at the egg plant, Montgomery Ward catalog department, Skyview Farms and worked with her husband for mass merchandising.
She was a member of the Trenton Church of Christ.
She was married on Saturday, June 15, 1946 in Atchison, KS to Cecil Power, who preceded her in death on June 1, 2013.
Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Delores Newton of Trenton and Gladys Newton of St. Joseph; one niece, Jennifer Newton of St. Joseph; four nephews, Steven Newton and Mark Newton of Trenton, Perry Newton of Springfield and Jeffrey Newton and his wife, Lucy of Carmel, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Paul Newton and Vane Newton.
Memorials are suggested to the Church of Christ and may be left at the Slater Funeral Home.
