The Trenton Elks Lodge #801 is seeking help from the community to put together care packages for members of the Missouri National Guard’s 548th Transportation Company, which is currently deployed to Kuwait.
The lodge has purchased $2,000 worth of personal care items, toothpaste, razors, deodorant, etc. for the company, which is based in Trenton, and will be assembling them in Ziplock bags to send to the troops. The lodge will also pay the postage to send the items. Lodge members and volunteers from the Boy Scouts will be assembling the packets at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Elks Lodge at 1012 Tinsman Ave. and are asking for help from community members who would like to assist.
