Elk Carcass Found Near Jamesport

The carcass of a deceased elk was discovered Sunday about one mile west of the Jamesport Community Lake. The elk’s antlers measured six-by-six – meaning there were six points on each side. Daviess County Conservation Agent Alan Bradford took possession of the animal’s head on Sunday, sending it to Columbia for testing. The tests will determine if the elk had chronic wasting disease or not and DNA tests
