North Central Missouri College is helping manufacturers in Nodaway County gain the skilled and ready workforce they need through training and advancement.
This training helps manufacturing workers advance in their career or obtain the skills they need for employment. NCMC, in collaboration with Northwest Technical School, Maryville R-2 School District and Nodaway County Economic Development, has partnered with Kawasaki Motors, Laclede Chain and Metal Culverts, Inc. in Nodaway County. Through these partnerships, NCMC is helping companies and their workforce advance in their skill sets and strengthen opportunity for economic growth in the region.
“Nodaway County has a strong manufacturing tradition that is dependent on our skilled and dedicated workforce,” said Josh McKim, Executive Director of Nodaway County Economic Development. “As our local manufacturers look toward the future they are dedicated to elevating the skill level of our workforce. Working in conjunction with the Northwest Technical School, North Central Missouri College is helping to meet this need and to create a more competitive and effective workforce in Northwest Missouri. Nodaway County Economic Development appreciates the partnership with NCMC and is excited about its potential future.”
Along with 11 other community colleges across the state, NCMC is dedicated to enhancing workforce training across Missouri to impact economic development efforts positively. Missouri community colleges are breaking down geographical barriers to work together to provide access statewide for businesses seeking to expand their workforce development resources through the training they can provide. This partnership allows Missouri’s community colleges to serve any business, anywhere in the state by working together and sharing resources. With this collaboration, community colleges are better serving businesses, Missouri citizens, and helping make Missouri competitive with other states for economic growth.
“The Missouri Community College Workforce Development Network initiative demonstrates not only the collaborative spirit but the collaborative solidarity among Missouri community colleges,” NCMC President Dr. Lenny Klaver said. “We look forward to working with our colleague campuses and meeting the workforce needs of the entire state.”
