TMS, THS FCCLA Members Participate In STAR Events

Trenton Middle School will be sending eight teams and Trenton High School will be sending one individual and one team to the state Students Taking Action with Recognition competition after they received gold ratings during the Region II STAR Events judging on Thursday in Trenton.
Both the TMS and Trenton High School FCCLA chapters participated in the event, which was hosted by Breckenridge High School. The state contest will be held on March 19-21 at the Lake of the Ozarks.
TMS teams earning a gold rating were:
Junior Advocacy – Bailea Jeanoutot and Halle Lotz.
Junior Chapter Service Portfolio – Evy McCullough, Grace Kennebeck and Lexi Gott.
Junior Entrepreneurship, Morgan Dolan and Emilee Lovell.
Environmental Ambassador – Jaycie Griffin and Maci Moore.
Illustrated Talk – Camdyn Leeper and Chloe Harris.
Interpersonal Communica-tions – Jake McNabb and Bailee McAtee.
Junior Life Event Planning – Chase Otto, Aiden McAtee and Brice Gibler.
Life Event Planning – Quincy Griffin and Gaven Roeder.
THS teams earning a gold were:
Focus on Children – Werthen Gass.
Food Innovations – Mykah Hurley, Sarah Jordan and Sydney Lynch.
Earning a silver rating were:
TMS Junior Advocacy – Adria Willey and Harley Hall.
TMS FCCLA Knowledge – Chase Otto.
THS Chapter Service Project Portfolio – Tiffany Gilbertson and Camryn Willey.
THS Chapter Service Project Display – Sydney Evans and Meaghan Adams.
THS FCCLA Knowledge – McKenna Cox and Oakley Madden.
A bronze medal went to the THS FCCLA Knowledge Team, comprised of Grace Eaton, Maci Henson, Mackenzie Klinginsmith, Laura Carlson, Shannon Coplen, Sarah Jordan and Sydney Lynch.
TMS FCCLA member Chase Otto has also been elected the Region 1 First Vice President, serving for the 2017-18 school year. He was elected during a meeting on Jan. 18 in Chillicothe. Also attending from Trenton were THS Region II officers Camryn Willey and Brayden Herring, TMS voting delegates Adria Willey and Harley Hall and advisors Suzi Beck, TMS, and Margaret Mollenhour, THS.
