Pleasant View R-6 celebrated Veteran’s Day by honoring 23 veterans and their families at a luncheon on Friday, Nov. 11. The flags were presented by the eighth grade class with the Pledge of Allegiance and “God Bless America,” led by the preschool and kindergarten. First grade students made a video, thanking all veterans, and second grade students wrote and presented acrostic poems. Third and fourth grade classes sang a song about the 50 states. Fifth through eighth grade students made thank you notes for each veteran and presented them while each branch of the military was honored. They also presented poems about Veteran’s Day. The meal was prepared by Julie Trimble, Regina Koon, Tracy Kralicek and Trisha Sharp. The pork was donated by Smithfield Foods.
