Four persons were arrested over the weekend on Grundy County charges, including a Plattsburg man charged with assault.
According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, former Trenton resident Kenneth L. Talley, 29, is charged with second degree assault, a class C felony, in connection with an incident on May 28 in which he allegedly caused serious physical injury to Levi G. Bell by cutting him with a sharp object that is considered a deadly weapon. Talley is considered a prior and persistent offender. He is being held on $15,000 cash-only bond and is scheduled to appear in court July 12.
Three persons were arrested for failing to appear in court or pay on their charges. They include, Gregory D. Baecht, 37, Trenton, whose charge is third degree assault on a law enforcement officer; David J. Riedel, 26, Cainsville, who is charged with failing to display plates on a motor vehicle; and Mandi M. Eaton, 17, Trenton, who is charged with operating a motor vehicle for which no financial responsibility was provided. Bond was set at $200 cash-only for each of the defendants, with Baecht and Riedel posting bond and Ms. Eaton remaining in the Grundy County Detention Center. Baecht is to appear in court on Tuesday, while Riedel and Ms. Eaton will appear in court July 12.
