The Trenton Middle School volleyball teams each moved to 2-0 overall on the season as the Lady Bulldogs swept the A and B games against Plattsburg on Tuesday night in Trenton. The Lady Bulldogs took the A game 25-7, 25-13 and won the B game 25-19, 25-15.
In the A game, Trenton came out firing on all cylinders, taking the first set behind strong serving and defense. Trenton led wire to wire in the second set as well, sweeping the match.
The first set of the B game was back-and-forth as both teams struggled to serve effectively. Trenton was able to string together a line of solid serves, however, allowing the Lady Bulldogs to take set one, 25-19. Trenton took the second set in similar fashion, completing a sweep of the match.
Trenton’s teams will be back in action on Thursday, traveling to Chillicothe for a pair of games beginning at 5 p.m.
Trenton’s A team will travel to Cameron on Saturday to compete in the Cameron Eighth Grade Tournament. First serves for the event are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
Both Trenton squads will be at home on Thursday, Sept. 24, wrapping up their home portion of the schedule with a pair of match-ups against Lathrop. Action for that match begins with the B game at 5 p.m. and the A contest will follow.
