Frances “Eilene” Ishmael, an 85-year-old resident of Chillicothe and formerly of Wheeling, died on Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at Hedrick Medical Center, at Chillicothe.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Burial will be held at Plainview Cemetery in Chula.
General visitation is under way until 8 o’clock tonight (Friday, March 20, 2015) at the funeral home.
Mrs. Ishmael was born on July 20, 1929 in Chula, the daughter of Edward and Sylvia Spainhour Bowe. She was a 1947 graduate of Chillicothe High School. She was married at Trenton on Dec. 25, 1952 to William Claudie Ishmael, who preceded her in death on Dec. 18, 2003.
She worked as a cook for Wheeling R-4 School from 1969 until 1994. She made her final home in Chillicothe, where she moved from Wheeling in 2011. She was a fan of the Kansas City Royals, Kansas City Chiefs and NASCAR. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and quilting.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia (Diana) Epperson of Cameron and (Debra) Joann Shafer of Chillicothe; one stepdaughter, Claudia (Maxine) Lisle and her husband, Tye of Trenton; one stepson, Richard Lee Ishmael and his wife, Margaret of Chillicothe; one stepdaughter-in-law, Shella Ishmael of Marceline; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Lloyd Bowe and his wife, Barbara and Russell Bowe and his wife, Sandy, both of Chillicothe.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a great-granddaughter, Megan Marie Ishmael; and a stepson, Eugene Ishmael.
