Evan Holt of Kearney recently competed at the Mid-States All-Star Championships swim meet in Indianapolis, IN. Holt is the son of Tim and Dawn Holt of Kearney and the grandson of Ed and Mary Holt of Trenton.
At Mid-States, Holt swam with a team representing the Missouri Valley, an area that includes Kansas City, Columbia, Springfield and all of Kansas. Holt qualified for Mid-States after swimming in the Missouri Valley meet, which consisted of 150 swimmers. The top four in each event advanced to Mid-States.
Holt swam in the medley relay with three teammates from Kearney at the Mid-States All-Star event, finishing fifth. He also swam as part of a 400-freestyle relay team, which finished second. Individually, he swam in the 500 freestyle, placing fourth. The Missouri Valley team finished fourth at the championships out of five all-star teams competeing.
