Trenton resident Aubrey Utley was one of three Central Methodist University graduates to receive special honors during the May 10 commencement exercises at Fayette.
Miss Utley was presented with the Selecman Achievement Award, which is the most prestigious award a graduating senior at CMU can receive. The award was established by the late Bishop Charles C. Selecman and is presented to a student who displays good citizenship on campus, scholarship, religious leadership, moral and spiritual qualities and outstanding achievement to an extraordinary degree.
Miss Utley graduated with highest honors from CMU and its honors college with a perfect 4.0 as a biology major and chemistry minor. While a student at CMU, she was a member of the dean’s list, recipient of the Gamma Sigma Epsilon Excellence in Organic Chemistry Award, recipient of the Alpha Epsilon Delta Physiology Award and was a tutor. She recently received CMU’s Darla Pannier Award as the school’s outstanding female athlete, was named an Alumni Outstanding Senior and was a member of Sigma Epsilon Pi. As a member of the school’s softball team, Miss Utley earned All-American honors as a pitcher on the nationally-ranked squad.
Miss Utley is the daughter of John and Tracy Utley of Trenton and plans to attend pharmacy school in the fall.
