Calvin Coolidge Bennett, an 89-year-old resident of Dearborn, died on Saturday, March 22, 2014.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at the Camden Point Baptist Church. Burial will be at the Camden Point Cemetery.
A visitation will be held prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m.
Mr. Bennett was born on Nov. 4, 1924 near Jamesport, the son of Frank Lee and Alice Schneiter Bennett. He served his country in the US Navy during WWII as a Seaman First Class.
He was married on Jan. 20, 1945 to Grace Nadine Shaw. After their marriage they lived in Florida, south Missouri and later made their home in Camden Point.
He worked as a journeyman roofer in Kansas City for many years. He enjoyed horses, hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He was a member of the Roofers Local Union 20 and the VFW.
He is survived by his wife, Nadine; children, Forrest Lee Bennett and his wife, Adele, Jerry Dean Bennett and his wife, Sylvia, John Martin Bennett and his wife, Tracy and Carla Jean Milazzo and her husband, Steve; grandchildren, Aaron, Michael, Deana, Thomas, Christopher, Samantha, Cheyenne, Grace, Jennifer and Damien; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Louise Nance; and several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Granville Lee Bennett.
Arrangements are by the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home of Edgerton.
