Four Being Held In County Detention Center

Four Trenton residents were arrested recently and are being held on bond in the Grundy County Detention Center.

According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, those arrested include Jonathan B. Woods, Cassandra Brewer, Gary Riddle and Colton Mathews.
Woods, 21, was arrested on a charge of possession of a controlled substance in connection with an incident in November 2012 in which he allegedly possessed 35 grams of marijuana. He is being held on $2,000 cash-only bond.
Ms. Brewer, 28, is charged with a felony count of passing bad check checks. She is accused of writing a check to L & L Liquor on Oct. 13, 2012, on a non-existent account at U.S. Bank. Her bond is set at $1,500 cash-only.
Riddle, 41, 2113 Lulu St., is charged with third degree assault and resisting arrest. He is accused of knowingly causing physical contact with a female household member, knowing she would find it offensive, and then resisting arrest by fleeing from Trenton Police Sgt. Larry Smith and officers Keith Edmonston and Jennifer Plummer. The incident allegedly occurred on June 14. His bond is set at $5,000 cash-only.
Mathews is charged with third degree domestic assault in connection with an incident in which he allegedly knowingly caused physical conduct with a female household member, knowing she would find it offensive. His bond is $3,500 cash or corporate surety.
All four defendants are scheduled to appear in court June 25.
