The Royals jumped out to a 6-0 first inning lead and then tacked on three more runs in the second to push the advantage to 9-0. Bethany rallied in the third however with an out-of-the-park grand slam that cut the lead to 9-4.
The Royals responded, however, pushing five more runs across the plate in the bottom of the inning. Jaden Whitney fueled the rally with a three-run over-the-fence home run.
Both teams would score twice more to give the game its final score of 16-6. With the win, Trenton’s record on the season moved to 6-4 overall. The little league Royals will play their last regular season game on Friday. Trenton will host Princeton at 7:30 on Johnson Field. Tournament play for the Royals will begin on Monday in Pattonsburg.
