Moderate damage was reported in a vehicle-bus accident investigated April 26 on Normal Street near Trenton High School.

According to Trenton Police Officer Seth Cox’s report, the mishap occurred when a bus driven by Debra L. McWilliams of 325 S.W. 20th St., was stopped at the stop sign exiting the parking lot and preparing to turn right (northbound) on Normal Street. A car driven by Tristan Dugan of 430 N.E. Rock Lane Rd., was northbound on Normal Street when the bus pulled into the intersection, striking the car in the passenger side. There were students on the bus, but no injuries were reported in the mishap.
Ms. McWilliams, 57, was ticketed for careless and imprudent driving by failing to yield to oncoming traffic.
An accident on Saturday is being blamed on a tire that blew out on one vehicle.
According to Officer Josh Gott’s report, the accident occurred when a truck driven by Jackie Woodley, Jr., of Mercer was westbound on 17th Street, making a left turn onto Main Street. As the vehicle made the turn, the front passenger tire blew out, causing the driver to lose control and be unable slow down. The truck struck a van driven by Lawrence J. Russell of 1615 Main St., from behind, causing moderate damage to the rear of the van and extensive damage to the front of the truck. No injuries were reported and no tickets were issued.
