Extension Official Gives Rotary Program

Connie Neal, a housing and environmental design specialist for the northwest region of the University Extension, presented the program at Thursday’s Trenton Rotary Club meeting. Joe Brinser was the program chairman.

Mrs. Neal, a retired teacher, has been with extension since April and works for a 16-county region out of the Grundy Courthouse. She told about the programs with which she is involved, including “Saving Energy=Saving Money”, “What is the Health of Your Home?”, “Rent Smart”, “Homeworks – A Use and Care Manual for Maintaining Your Investment”, “HOME: Home Ownership Made Easier” and “A Matter of Balance.”  In addition, she also presented information about the Grundy County Extension Council and the services it provides. In addition to Mrs. Neal, others in the local office include County Program Director Tim Baker, 4-H Youth Development Program Assistant Lisa Delameter and Office Manager Vickie Pash.
During the business meeting, sign-up sheets were passed around for members to help with the Missouri Day Parade and the turkey leg sales. Members were also reminded that the district governor will be at next week’s meeting and will meet with officers before the noon dinner and program.
