Maria DeJesus Meraz, 40, 1912 Madison St., pleaded guilty to failing to secure a child under the age of eight in a child restraint system or booster seat and was fined $50 and $58.50 costs.
The following defendants pleaded guilty to their charges and paid their fines through the Fine Collection Center, with their names provided to the Republican-Times:
Hubert Anderson, Pleasant Valley, pleaded guilty to failing to display plates on a motor vehicle and was fined $30.50. He also pleaded guilty to operating a commercial motor vehicle with equipment not complying with regulations and was fined $80.50.
Pleading guilty to speeding and fined $55.50 were Judith Boland, Sweet Springs; Mysti Williams, Bethany; and Andres Lopez, Arkansas City, KS.
Pleading guilty to speeding and fined $30.50 were Denise Bougher, Indianola, IA; Kelly Anderson, Des Moines, IA; Ladonna Rognes, Northwood, IA; and Richard Schneider, Princeton.
Mark McCaughey, Polk City, IA, pleaded guilty to speeding and was fined $80.50.
Pleading guilty to not wearing a seat belt and fined $10 were William Chapman, Chillicothe; and Russell Ungles, Trenton.
Kenneth Markley, Mt. Ayr, IA, pleaded guilty to speeding and was fined $155.50.

Leo May, 34, 2912 Mable St., pleaded guilty to failing to stop for a stop sign and was fined $10.50 and $34.50 costs.
