The Gilman City Hawks picked up a big HDC Conference win on Tuesday night, defeating Winston 60-34 at home. The win came on the heels of a tough loss to a much bigger school in Lathrop, a game played on Monday night. The Hawks fell in that game, also a home contest, 69-66.

vs. Winston
The Hawks ran their HDC Conference record to 4-0 on the season on Tuesday night as they manhandled an overmatched Winston team. The Hawks jumped out to a 13-9 first quarter lead and then spread it on in the second quarter in the form of a 25-7 run. With the game in hand, Gilman did little more than coast through the final frame on their way to the victory.
Taylor Eoff led the Hawks with 20 points, eight rebounds and seven steals. Ross Oram added 13 points, seven rebounds, five assists and four steals.
vs. Lathrop
The Hawks jumped out to a 15-9 lead on Lathrop in the first quarter, but the Mules’ size eventually came through as the Hawks were outscored by three in the final quarter, which was the difference in the game.
Eoff had 21 points, seven rebounds and four steals and Oram had 20 points, seven rebonds and seven steals. Nick Wilson added 13 points.
The Hawks, 14-4 overall, will host Grundy on Thursday at 6 p.m.
