Children’s Book Week At Rissler School

Rissler Elementary School students will celebrate Children’s Book Week, Nov. 1-5, with several activities planned throughout the week.

DEAR Week (Drop Everything and Read) will be observed throughout the week, with classrooms being encouraged to set aside a time each day during the week to have students read. Those classes will be entered for a $10 book fair certificate to be given away later in the week (three will be given).
Special activities are also planned each day including Monday, students wearing blaze orange; Tuesday, students wearing red, white and blue in honor of election day; Wednesday, identification of works of arts and the artist who created them, with winners being entered in a drawing; Thursday, students receiving candy-scented scratch and sniff bookmarks; and Friday, students wearing a shirt with a name or message on it.
