Election Judges Named For Nov. 2 Election

Election judges have been named for Tuesday’s General Election.

There are no local contested races. Those seeking office are Democrats Carol Wetherell, seeking her first term as prosecuting attorney, and Charlene Arnold, seeking re-election to the office of circuit clerk and ex-officio recorder. Local Republicans running unopposed are Rick Hull, seeking re-election as Grundy County Presiding Commissioner; Steven D. Hudson, seeking re-election as Grundy County associate judge; and Betty Spickard, who is seeking her first term as Grundy County clerk. Also running unopposed in the General Election are Republicans Brad Lager, seeking re-election as 12th District State Senator, and Casey Guernsey, seeking re-election as Third District State Representative.
Voters will also cast their ballots to elect a new U.S. Senator to replace the retiring Kit Bond, a Republican. Those seeking the office are Robin Carnahan, a Democrat; Roy Blunt, a Republican; Jonathan Dine, Libertarian; and Jerry Beck, Constitution Party. Sixth District U.S. Rep. Sam Graves, a Republican, is being challenged for re-election by Democrat Clint Hylton. In addition, Democrat Susan Montee is seeking re-election as state auditor and is being challenged by Republican Tom Schweich and Libertarian Charles W. Baum.
Missouri voters will also be asked to determine the fate of two questions placed on the ballot through petition initiatives. Proposition A would affect earnings taxes, while Proposition B affects large-scale dog breeding operations.
Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Nov. 2, with absentee balloting to take place until 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 1.

Liberty and Myers Townships (voting at the Galt Baptist Church) -Linda Baugher, Marjorie Grisamore, Republicans;Goldie Ruegsegger, Gloria Koon, Democrats.
Wilson and Marion Townships (voting at the Laredo Community Building) – Cleta Sterling, Nora Reeter, Republicans; James Hamilton, Emma Gardner, Democrats.
Franklin and Washington Townships (voting at the Spickard Christian Church) – Rhonda McIntosh, Carol Marrs, Republicans; Carolyn Brown, Clarice Bosley, Democrats.
Harrison and Lincoln Townships (voting at the John Ausberger building at 559 NW Fifth Ave., Tindall) – Clara George, Helmi Erp, Republicans; Darlie Ricketts, Christi Sims, Democrats.
Madison and Taylor Townships (voting at Edin-burg Baptist Church) – Barbra Adams, Lucille Smith, Republicans; Wanda Long, Margaret Turner, Democrats.
Trenton First Ward and Jefferson Townships (voting at the Grundy County Courthouse) – Karen Prewitt, Betty Sager, Republicans; Harold Kost, Betty Mullins, Democrats.
Trenton, Second Ward (voting at the Frey Building on the campus of North Central Missouri College)- Doris Pilcher, Betty Eads, Republicans; Carolyn Dickerson, Rosemary Cudney, Democrats.
Trenton, Third Ward (voting at the First Church in Trenton) – Lucille Fletcher, Tootie Edwards, Republicans; Barbara Pfaff, Verlene Matlage, Democrats.
Trenton Fourth Ward and Jackson Township (voting at the First Baptist Church Recreational Center) – Janet Spencer, Bonnie Moore, Republicans; Sheron Lovell, Yvonne Ulmer, Democrats.
Judges for the absentee ballots will include Betty Evans and Cheryl Moore, Republi-cans, and Mary Lou Crawford and Talma Holt, Democrats.
A meeting of supervisory judges is scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 1 at the courthouse.
