A Trenton man has been charged with burglary after entering a building to commit assault.

According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, 28-year-old John Kennedy is accused of unlawfully entering a structure on Dec. 13 at 1406 E. 13th St. for the purpose of committing assault. The building was occupied by Tammy Kennedy.
Kennedy has posted $25,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 8.
