The Trenton R-9 Board of Education met Wednesday night, conducting board self-evaluation at the district office.
The workshop was facilitated by Jan Watson, senior director of board leadership and development for the Missouri School Boards’ Association.
Superintendent Craig Noah said the focus of the meeting was the role of the board of education in regard to student effectiveness. Each board member completed a self-evaluation form prior to the meeting, with the results compiled before the meeting, then reviewed by board members and Ms. Watson, who led a discussion in each of the surveyed areas.
Areas in the survey included goals, roles, participation, problem definition, conflict management, personal respect, mutual support, monitoring, decision making and trust/confidentiality.
Noah said that the goals portion of the survey will be further addressed during the next regular meeting of the R-9 Board, which is scheduled for next Tuesday, Feb. 8.
The workshop lasted approximately four hours.
