Citizens of the Green Hills Area are invited to participate in an exchange of ideas and opinions about the Missouri Arts Council?s role in supporting arts activities in the region.

The Missouri Arts Council is soliciting input from citizens throughout the state as a part of its strategic planning process.

?This is an opportunity for citizens of Missouri to let us know about the needs in their communities and how a state arts agency can help address those needs,? said Norree Boyd, executive director of the Missouri Arts council. ? I look forward to hearing ideas and suggestions for us to consider as we create the ?road map? for MAC to follow.?

The meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 21 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sugg Room of the Ketcham Community Center, located on the campus of North Central Missouri College. The meeting is open to members of the public.

?We are pleased that MAC asked the Grundy County Friends of the Arts to host this town hall meeting for our area,? Cathy Smith, president of the local arts council, said.

The Missouri Arts Council, a state agency, provides more than $5 million in assistance to non-profit organizations throughout Missouri. A division of the Missouri Department of Economic Development, the MAC is the second oldest state-funded arts agency in the country. The MAC board consists of 15 volunteer citizens from across the state, appointed by the governor, to provide direction in policymaking and programming oversight.
