Pirates Visit Trenton Head Start

North Central Missouri College student athletes visited Trenton Head Start on Wednesday as part of the college’s Scholastic Book Fair. The visit was coordinated by the NCMC Student Senate and the library in an effort to promote child literacy. FFA Members Do Well At Judging Event

Members of the Trenton FFA chapter took part in judging competitions on Saturday at the Paris Aggie Days.
The Ag Sales team placed first in the competition and had the third-, fourth- and fifth-place individual judges in Breilly Roy, Malinda Foster and Alex Davis, respectively..

Megan Ellis Earns Honor

Trenton High School senior Megan Ellis has been selected for the 2014 Missouri Scholars 100, a statewide program that honors 100 of Missouri’s top academic students in the 2014 graduating class.
According to Principal Dan Wiebers, the Missouri Scholars 100 program is sponsored by the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals. Selection is based primarily on a formula using the student’s grade point average and ACT or SAT score. In

Key Club Earns Awards

Fourteen members of the Trenton High School Key Club recently attended the 67th annual Missouri-Arkansas District Leadership Conference in Springfield.
Members were presented with many awards and organized a forum for conference attendees. The club was named a Distinguished Key Club earning 182 of 200 points on the Annual Achievement Report. THS Key Club members achieved 2,800 service hours and donated $2,386.00 to charities over the past year.

R-9 Kindergarten Screening

Kindergarten screenings for students in the Trenton R-9 School District will be held on March 13 and 16 in the early childhood center, located at the Rissler Elementary School.
Children who will be five years of age before Aug. 1 are eligible to attend kindergarten this fall. Areas to be screened include communication, pre-academic readiness skills, fine/gross motor skills, speech/language skills, vision and hearing. Parents or guardians bringing the child
