Two Charged In Drug Cases

Two area men have been charged with drug-related offenses, including a Trenton man who has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and a Spickard man charged with possessing drug paraphernalia used with methamphetamine.

Woman Held On Bond After Failing to Appear

A Trenton woman is being held in the Grundy County Detention Center after being arrested for failing to appear in court.
According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, 20-year-old Kay Lynn Smith is being held on $15,000 cash-only bond after failing to appear in court on a charge of felony forgery. She was arrested Saturday and is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 7.

Cameron Man Held On Cash Bond

Cash bond was set for a Cameron man who was arrested in Daviess County for failing to appear in Grundy County Court.
According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, Joshua B. Detherage, 20, failed to appear in court on an original charge of driving while revoked or suspended. Bond was set at $400 cash-only and he is scheduled to appear in court July 22.

Three Men Arrested On Unrelated Charges

Three area men have been arrested on unrelated charges, including one who failed to return rented or leased property.
According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, 37-year-old Thomas G. Howard, Jr., of Princeton was arrested for failing to return a Hitachi big screen television to McRentals. He has posted $2,500 cash-only bond and is scheduled to appear in court July 22.

Jamesport Man Fails To Appear In Court

A Jamesport man was held on cash bond after being arrested for failing to appear in court.
According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, 21-year-old Brian Coombs failed to appear in court on charges of driving while revoked and operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner involving an accident. He is being held on bonds totaling $650 cash-only and was scheduled to appear in court today.

Three Arrested Over The Weekend

Three persons were arrested over the weekend, including a man who allegedly violated an order of protection.
According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, 42-year-old Gary Riddle was arrested Sunday and is being held in the Grundy County Detention Center on $3,000 cash-only bond. He is accused of having contact with two females while an order of protection was in force. He is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.

Man Arrested For Violations

Joseph Caleb Smith, 32, Laredo, was arrested Tuesday for multiple violations.
According to the Grundy County Sherriff’s Department, Smith was arrested on charges of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and operating a motor vehicle in a carless and imprudent manner. For those two charges, Smith was being held on $5,000 cash-only bond. Smith was also charged with driving while intoxicated – drug intoxication. For that charge Smith was being held

Two Arrested On Monday

Two arrests were made in connection with Grundy County crimes Monday according to the Grundy County Sherriff’s Department.
Charlotte M. Smith, 69, Harris, was arrested on three counts of passing bad checks. According to the sherriff’s department, Smith is accused of writing checks for $28.04 to Amoco, $15.89 to Finders Keepers and $30.47 to Amoco. All three checks were drawn upon Farmers Bank of Northern Missouri.

Four Arrested Over Weekend

arrested over the weekend, all on Saturday.
Laura J. Sternquist, 47, Trenton, was arrested on three counts of passing bad checks. Sternquist is accused of passing a check for $23.39 to TNT Convenience, a check for $61.14 to Hy-Vee and a check for $7.35 to Hy-Vee, knowing none of them would be paid. All three checks were drawn upon Citizens Bank and Trust.
