Two Arrested On County Warrants

Two persons were arrested on Grundy County warrants Thursday.
Shelby Smith, 27, Lancaster and Camry Holsted, 22, Trenton, will both face charges in court on Tuesday in Trenton.
Smith was arrested on a charge of passing a bad check in Ralls County on a Grundy County warrant. According to the Grundy County Sherriff’s Office, Smith allegedly passed a check for $98.25 to Hy-Vee on June 5, 2008. The check was

No Foul Play Suspected In Two Deaths

The death of a woman and child in the parking lot at Trenton McDonald’s Saturday is under investigation, however no foul play is suspected.

TPD Responds To Accidents

Reports have become available for several accidents investigated recently by the Trenton Police Department, including one investigated June 23 involving a motorcycle.

Search Warrant Is Issued

Trenton Police Chief Tommy Wright and the Missouri State Highway Patrol executed a drug search warrant this morning at a residence on East Ninth Street.
According to a news release from Chief Wright, the search warrant was executed at 1402 E. Ninth St., where officers recovered methamphetamine and various drug paraphernalia. One female was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and officers will be applying for charges on several others suspects

Police Investigate Two Accidents

The Trenton Police Department responded to two accidents on Thursday.
The first occurred at the intersection of Oklahoma Avenue and 16th Street around 11 a.m. According to the police report filed by Sgt. Jeb Walker, vehicles driven by Kenneth Anderson of Trenton and Karen Spencer of Trenton were southbound on Oklahoma Avenue, following a horse and buggy. Man Held For Assaulting Officer

A Trenton man is being held on cash bond after allegedly assaulting a police officer.
According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, 36-year-old Gregory D. Baecht is charged with third degree assault of a law enforcement officer. He is accused of pushing and shoving Trenton Police Officer Randy Burks on Dec. 13. His bond has been set at $4,000 cash-only and he is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 12.
