Several Held After Weekend Arrests

Several persons are being held in the Grundy County Detention Center after being arrested over the weekend.
Two Trenton residents, Gregory E. Hoffman, 54, and Miriah M. Butler, 42, were both arrested Saturday and charged with domestic assault. Hoffman is charged with a class A misdemeanor and is being held on $5,000 cash or corporate surety. Ms. Butler is also charged with third degree domestic assault, but her charge is

Feb. 8: firefighters responded to a report of a power line that was sparking behind a building on the east side of town. No fire was found and Trenton Municipal Utilities was investigating the incident.

Patrol Makes Arrest For DWI

The Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested a Trenton man Wednesday for driving while intoxicated.
According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, Shawn Howell, 44, was arrested on the class D felony after allegedly traveling on Highway 65 while under the influence of alcohol. Howell was charged as a persistent offender due to two previous convictions for DWI. He has posted $5,000 cash-only bond and is scheduled to appear in court

Arrest On Check Charge

Charges of felony passing bad checks have been filed against a Trenton man.
According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, Phillip Murphy is facing two class C felony charges of passing bad checks on a non-existent account at BTC Bank. Murphy is accused of writing a check to Amoco-Trenton BP on Oct. 17, 2015 for $67.42 and to the same business on Oct. 20, 2015 in the amount of $40.

Arrest Made In Connection With Softball Fundraiser

A Trenton woman has been arrested in connection with a softball fundraiser in which the funds were not distributed to the parties for whom the event was held.
According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, Lindsay B. Barron, 22, is charged with a class C felony of stealing by deceit. She is accused of appropriating the proceeds from a softball tournament fundraiser held in August 2014 that had been advertised

Several Facing Charges After Weekend Arrests

Several persons were arrested over the weekend, including a Chillicothe man facing several drug charges.
According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, 37-year-old William J. Ross has been charged with a class C felony of possession of a controlled substance, as well as a misdemeanor of possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Jan. 30: just before 8 p.m. firefighters were called to a motor vehicle accident on Oklahoma Avenue north of K&J Auto, where it was reported that a single occupant had been injured but not trapped in the vehicle.
