Commission Sets Agenda For 12-2-14

The Grundy County Commission will meet in regular session Tuesday at the courthouse.
Items on the announced agenda include an 8:30 a.m. meeting with Sara Berry to discuss a real estate assessment issue; appointments to the board of directors for Families and Friends of the Developmentally Disabled at 9 a.m.; a meeting with Tammy Taylor of the Green Hills Women’s Shelter to discuss a disbursement from the Victims of Domestic

Robert Johnstone III, 36, Trenton, was sentenced to serve five years in the Department of Corrections on a charge of first degree child molestation. He had earlier been found guilty by a jury.

Devin R. McGuire, 50, Brimson, pleaded guilty to not maintaining financial responsibility for a vehicle and was fined $27.50 and $68.50 costs.
Samuel G. Adams, 27, Trenton, pleaded guilty to failing to stop for a stop sign and was fined $17.50 and $68.50 costs.

Commissioners At MAC Meeting

The Grundy County Commission will attend the Missouri Association of Counties meeting at the Lake of the Ozarks next week.
The MAC meeting will be held Sunday through Tuesday morning, with the commissioners scheduled to return to the courthouse late Tuesday afternoon to sign paychecks and bills.

Commission Accepts Proposal For Snow Removal, Announce Bridge Opening

The Grundy County Commission met Tuesday, approving a proposal for snow removal and announcing the opening of a bridge.
Commissioners accepted a proposal from Eric Hoffman for snow removal at the courthouse, prosecuting attorney’s office and law enforcement center, with Hoffman’s bid being $400. If only ice melt is needed, the cost will be $125. It was the lowest of two proposals received after no formal bids were submitted.
