Commission Meeting On Tuesday

The Grundy County Commission will meet in regular session Tuesday at the courthouse.
The only item listed on the announced agenda is a 10 a.m. meeting with Ambulance Director Steve Tracy.

Commission Continues Fact-Finding On Health Ordinance

The Grundy County Commission continued its fact-finding today on whether or not a health ordinance should be enacted to regulate concentrated animal feeding operations in the county.
A large crowd of county residents was present at the meeting, with commissioners indicating that they are continuing to seek legal advice on how and if an ordinance should be enacted and whether or not an ordinance would prohibit Trenton Farms RE, LLC

Liberty L. Griffin, 34, Mercer, appeared in court owing money on convictions for not maintaining financial responsibility for a vehicle and failing to display valid plates on a motor vehicle. The amount owed was converted to time in the Grundy County Detention Center with the defendant to serve 12 days on each charge, with the time to run consecutively.

Special Commission Meeting

The Grundy County Commission will hold a special meeting at 8 a.m. Thursday to continue investigating the idea of enacting a Confined Animal Feeding Operation ordinance. The meeting is open to the public.

Fuel Bid Accepted

The Grundy County Commission accepted a bid for fuel for county vehicles during its meeting on Tuesday.
The commission agreed to accept a bid from Landes Oil, which is the current fuel provider. The bid was for 5 cents under the pump price and is good at any of the four Landes locations. Landes provides bulk delivery and department heads have indicated they have had good service from Landes in
