New Minister At Rural Dale Church

Rural Dale Baptist Church called Steven Nelson on Sunday, Sept. 11 as their senior pastor. Steven and his wife, Dana, have been married for nine years. They have two daughters, Lydia, age 8, and Lauryn, age 5. Steven graduated from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in May 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in Biblical studies. New Minister At Christian Church

A native of Connecticut has become the new minister of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Trenton.

Kala Smith Is Grundy R-5 Valedictorian

Kala Ann Smith was named the valedictorian and Brittany Megan Michael the salutatorian of the Grundy R-5 High School Class of 2008 during commencement exercises on Sunday afternoon at the high school gym in Galt.

Miss Smith was graduated with a grade point average of 3.87 on a 4.0 scale. She is the daughter of Randy and Mary Lynn Young and Steve and Shelly Smith.

Rylan Grace Miller

Ryan and Bethany Miller of Trenton are the parents of a 7 pound, 8.6 ounce baby girl, born at 9:28 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008 at Wright Memorial Hospital.

The baby was 18 1/2 inches long and was named Rylan Grace. She is the couple’s first child.
Maternal grandparents are Carla and David Little of Trenton and John Greenwood of Excelsior Springs. Maternal great-grandparents are Gary and Jackie Ballinger

Special Christmas Services Planned

Several area churches have announced special events to celebrate the Christmas season.

Churches who have provided information to the Republican-Times thus far include:

Honey Creek Chapel Celebrating 150 Years

The Honey Creek Chapel Christian Church will celebrate its 150th anniversary on Sunday, Sept. 16 at the church.

Church League Results

The Church Softball Competitive League Tournament continued on Thursday night with four more games.
The first game of the night saw a pair of winners from the first round facing off. Galt Christian and the Angels battled, but Galt Christian proved to be the hottest team of the tournament thus far, winning 17-9.
