Information Sought On Trenton Business

R-T Photo/Wendell Lenhart Does anyone know about the Christopher-Thurber Grocery Co. in Trenton? If so, we would like to visit with you. Trenton resident Evelyn Trickel brought in this Old Settler’s Brand ground ginger tin, which listed the Christopher-Thurber Grocery Co. as the distributor. We were able to find out the company was organized in 1908 by Max A. Christopher, who was born in 1878 in Warrensburg. He also owned the Jennings-Christopher Grocery Co. of Centerville, IA, serving as president of both groceries, and was also involved with the Warrensburg Wholesale Grocery Company, where he was secretary of the company.
