Hanes Promoted

Submitted Photo Christopher Hanes, US Army, was promoted to the rank of major on Sept. 2 during ceremonies held at the Disabled American Veterans Hall in Kansas City. Major Hanes and his family currently reside at Ft Leavenworth, KS, where Hanes is attending the Command General Staff College. Retired Colonel Todd Wood conducted the ceremony and led Hanes in reciting his oath of office. Hanes served under Wood while stationed at Ft Wainwright in Fairbanks, AK with the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division. Additionally, both are graduates of the University of Central Missouri at Warrensburg. The ceremony was attended by friends and family, many of whom traveled from Trenton. A reception was held immediately following the promotion ceremony. Major Hanes is the son of Bob and Mary Everitt of Grandview and Mark and Debbie Hanes of Trenton. He is the grandson of Vernon Hanes of Lake Viking, Betty Siemer of Trenton, Margaret Love of Belton and the late Karl Goerne.
