Street Department Keeping Busy

Photo Courtesy of Jessica Tabbert The City of Trenton’s Street Department has been keeping busy laying asphalt on several streets in Trenton. Much progress has been made recently in the ever-present need to keep the condition of the streets in excellent condition. These updates will provide a large step forward in the effort to better the appearance of the community. Along with the ongoing project of laying new asphalt, the street department also sprays for mosquitos about every 10 to 14 days (weather permitting), mows the airport and city lots weekly as well as 68 miles of right of ways (weather permitting), patch TMU utility street cuts and some private business street cuts as well as operate and sell asphalt at the asphalt plant. Crews also chip brush, which residents can dispose of at the city maintenance barn from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.
