Animal Shelter Fundraiser Draws Laughs

R-T Photos/Diane Lowrey It was a full house in the Trenton High School Commons Saturday night as Trenton native Jeff Binney, at left, performed at a fundraiser for the Green Hills Animal Shelter. Binney, a 2001 graduate of Trenton High School, showed off his comedic talents during at 20-minute set featuring topics ranging from running an ultra-marathon to being born and raised on a pig farm. Thelma and Louise (aka Karen Rorebeck and Karen Glenn), pictured at right, along with THS student Cole Little served as the “warm-up” for Binney’s performance. A chili supper and 50/50 raffle were also held, with the animal shelter raising around $2,000 for shelter operations.
