Fire Destroys Home

R-T Photo/Diane Lowrey A home at 1904 Lulu St. was destroyed by fire on Tuesday afternoon. The Trenton Fire Department was called to the scene at around 2:11 p.m. and found heavy smoke and fire coming from the home, owned by David Robinson. Robinson told firemen that he was remodeling the home and was putting up dry wall. He drove a screw into the dry wall, which went through the wall and into wall outlet. Robinson said there was a flash and then the fire. Trenton Fire Marshal Robert Romesburg said it was determined that the fire did start in the area of the wall outlet. Firemen were on the scene around three hours.  The Trenton Fire Department was assisted by two members of the Grundy County Rural Fire Protection District.
