R-6 Students Enjoy the Outdoors

On Friday, Sept. 11, the students in grades five through eight at the Pleasant View R-6 School traveled to the Barton Farm Campus with Grundy County Conservation Agent Jeff Berti for a lesson in conservation and fishing. The students learned to cast, bait hooks, remove fish and return the fish to the pond. In addition, Berti demonstrated the proper way to measure fish to determine if they should be kept or returned to the water. He also showed the students the parts of a fish and how each one works together so that the fish can swim.
