Former North Central Missouri College pitcher Silas Bohanan earned his first professional win with a 6-1 victory for the Gulf Coast League Cardinals on Wednesday, Aug. 6. Bohanan, a member of the 2011 and 2012 Pirates’ baseball team, threw 2.1 innings in relief to pick up the win. He allowed no walks or hits and struck out two as the team combined for a no-hitter. Bohanan signed with the St. Louis Cardinals organization as a free agent and had his first outing for the rookie league Cardinals on July 19. To date, Bohanan has appeared in five games and has an ERA of 5.40. “I am glad to see Silas pitching in a developmental setting,” NCMC Coach Donnie Hillerman said. “I believe it is the right opportunity for him to continue to develop, he has great potential.”
