Fire Destroys Rural Trenton Home

R-T Photo/Seth Herrold The cause of a fire on Friday that destroyed the David Tatum residence remains undetermined. Members of the Grundy County Rural Fire Protection District were called to 663 SW 40th Ave. at 10:30 a.m. to find the attic area engulfed in flames. No one was home at the time of the fire Several items from the garage area, including tools, lawnmowers and vehicles, were able to be saved. The house was destroyed. Firemen were on the scene until around 2:05 p.m. In addition to Grundy County and Trenton, the Jamesport Fire Department was also called to assist in fighting the blaze.
