Zane Smith Earns Eagle Award

The grandson of Trenton residents recently received his Eagle Scout Award in ceremonies held in St. Joseph. Zane Alexander Smith received the award, which is the highest bestowed by the Boy Scouts of America. His Eagle project was the repainting of the lettering on the VFW Hall in Trenton. He was recognized on the floor of the House of Representatives in Washington D.C. by Rep. Sam Graves for achieving the Eagle Award. He joins his father, Johnathan, and his uncle, Christopher, in achieving the Eagle Award.  Among the family members attending the ceremony long-time scouters John Sam Smith, his grandfather; his great-uncle, Steve Spencer; and his uncle Christopher. He is the son of former Trenton residents Johnathan and Rena Smith of St. Joseph, and the grandson of John Sam and Cathie Smith and Richard and JoAnn Rothermich, all of Trenton.
