WMH Honors Nursing Staff

Photo Courtesy of Wright Memorial Hospital The Wright Memorial Hospital Special Nursing Committee organized an All Nurses Recognition Meeting last Thursday, May 8, in celebration of Nurses Week. The purpose of the event was to gather all the nurses at WMH for a time of fun, recognition, and to learn about common issues. Approximately 45 nurses attended the event, and seven nurses were recognized for being promoted from RN I to RN II. Those nurses promoted included, from left, Brenda Ferguson, Terry Waddell, Chanel Lovell and Jena Eads. Not pictured are Amy Creason, Ashley Stiles, and Val Kirby. To receive this promotion, a nurse must provide a portfolio with documentation of their experience, required education and continuing education credits, any certifications, participation in approved clinical/hospital activities and projects/outcomes that they impacted. Projects and activities must be approved at the time of application and be tied to hospital core values. Ongoing support is provided by an education specialist and all portfolios are subject to review and approval by the established Career Advancement Program Council. Clinical Advancement is developed to promote the bedside nurse. This program provides a way to promote and reward patient care professionals who are advancing in their practice with the goal of retaining outstanding patient care professionals.
