The North Central Missouri College Lady Pirates were at home Thursday night playing host to, and defeating, the William Penn University junior varsity.
The Lady Pirates rolled over the visitors from Iowa, winning 103-63 at the Ketcham Community Center in Trenton.
The Lady Pirates grabbed control early and pulled away throughout the game en route to the victory.
Leading the charge for the Lady Pirates was Kayla Oetterer who tallied a double-double with 25 points and 16 rebounds. Brooke Parton followed with 24 points, Samone Redditt had 19 and Nancy Berwanger finished with 11.
“We really executed our transition game,” Lady Pirates’ Head Coach Jenni Croy said. “It was a fun game for our girls. They played really well together and knocked down shots. We went 28-of-30 from the free-throw line and that’s the best we have shot all year.”
With the win, the Lady Pirates improved to 7-12 on the season. NCMC returns to the court on Saturday for a women’s-men’s doubleheader with Penn Valley on the road in Kansas City. The women’s game tips off at 2 p.m. with the men to follow at 4 o’clock.
