Trenton High School has announced its Students of the Quarter for the second quarter.
Students are chosen for the honor based on citizenship, leadership, participation and academic achievement. A student can only receive the honor one time during their high school career.
Chris Kurtz is the senior student of the quarter. The son of Sara Kurtz and David Kurtz, Chris is a member of the FBLA, National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He is a member of the basketball and football teams, serving as captain of the football team and was named “Mr. Football” in 2013. He has been named to the superintendent’s honor roll. Outside of school, he attends the Cornerstone Church in Chillicothe and is an employee of DJK Construction.
The junior student of the quarter is Logan Trickel. The son of Laurie Frisbie, Logan is a member of the FFA and participates on the track team. He is a member of Boy Scout Troop 99 and attends Rural Dale Baptist Church, where he participates in the youth group. In addition, he is employed as a cook at Hardee’s.
Madeline Barone is the sophomore student of the month. She participates in the Golden Bulldog Marching Band and concert band and is a member of the Science Club, Key Club and Spanish Club. Outside of school, she attends the Liberty Baptist Church and is a part of the youth group. She is the daughter of Wes and Jenny Barone.
The freshman student of the quarter is Mason Hooyman. She is a member of FBLA and FCCLA, serving as Region 2 president. She is a member of the softball and track teams and is also a football and basketball cheerleader. She has been named to the superintendent’s honor roll. Outside of school, she plays on a traveling softball team. Mason is the daughter of Gary and Jamie Hooyman.
