Betty Lou Nostrant, an 87-year-old resident of Trenton, died on Monday morning, Jan. 6, 2014 at the Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton.
The body was donated to medical science. The Slater Funeral Home of Trenton was in charge of arrangements.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Nostrant was born on Jan. 13, 1926 in St. Joseph, the daughter of Guy and Hattie Pearl Hale Allen. She married Henry Lyle Rohwer in 1944. In 1969 she was married to Burt Nostrant, who preceded her death on May 6, 2001.
Her survivors include one daughter, Sherry Betz and her husband, Chris of Trenton; three sons, Gaylen Rohwer and his wife, Elizabeth of Newton, KS, Mike Rowden and his wife, Laura of Rogers, AR and Rick Chouinard and his wife, Debbie of Castaic, CA; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Joann Minnis of Belton; and three brothers, Bob Allen of Cameron, Bill Allen and Gary Allen, both of St. Joseph.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Debra Kay Rohwer and Terry Rainer; two sons, Tommy Rohwer and Michael Rohwer; one sister; Joyce Cain; and three brothers, Gean Allen, Jackie Allen and Buck Allen.
Memorials are suggested to either Saint Luke’s Hospice or the Alzeimer’s Association. They may be left at the funeral home.
