Mary Mae Sterling Marriott, an 89-year-old resident of St. Joseph, died on Monday, Dec. 9, 2013 at LaVerna Village Nursing Home in Savannah.
Celebration of Life services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013 at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home in Savannah.
Mrs. Marriott was born on Sept. 15, 1924 in Milan, the daughter of Ernest and Jeannie Gladwell Sterling. She was married on Aug. 4, 1946 in Troy, KS to Alfred Marriott, who preceded her in death in 2001.
She had been a Bellsouth operator, worked at the Trenton Milk Plant, the Troy, KS, Military Ammunition Plant and the Peyton Hotel and Restaurant.
Survivors include son, Alfred Paul Marriott of Trenton; two daughters, Vickie Lunday and Connie (Tim) Gangel, both of Savannah; a brother, Kenneth (Rena) Sterling of Fresno, CA; two sisters, Peggy Ann Kinion of Trenton and LaVerna Wilson of Independence; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Sue Starrett; five brothers, Charles, Edmond, Bobbie, Raymond and Vernan Lee Sterling; and two sisters, AnnaBelle Sterling and Dorothy Helen Wilson.
