TMS Draws Split With Cameron At Home
The Trenton Middle School basketball teams were in action on Tuesday night, playing host to Cameron in a four-game set in Trenton. The Trenton teams pulled out a split as the girls A team won 41-11 and the boys B team pulled out a 15-13 win. On the other end, the Trenton A boys lost 31-12 and the B girls lost 12-11.
Trenton’s A girls kept rolling by picking up another win, this one by 30 points. Ashten Whitaker led the way with 16 points and Taylor Richman and Mykah Hurley both scored eight points. Claire Utley finished with three points, Salem Croy added two and Ainsley Tolson had two as well. With the win, Trenton’s girls A team improved to 7-0 on the season.
The B team girls were handed a tough loss, falling by a single point. Lauren Dolan led the B team girls with six points while Emma Gilham scored three and Karli Provorse finished with two.
With the loss, Trenton’s B team girls fell to 1-4 on the season.
The Trenton A team boys kept things close early, trailing just 8-4 after the first quarter, but a 12-4 run in the second quarter by Cameron put Trenton in a 20-8 hole they would not dig out of.
Hunter Dugan led Trenton with four points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals and Lathan Croy had four points and four steals. Jarren King added four points and three steals and Jadan Whitney finished with five rebounds, an assist and a steal. Kade Ockenfels had two rebounds and Isaac Harris had one steal.
The loss dropped Trenton’s A team boys to 1-6 overall.
The B team boys were able to pick up a win in their match-up with Cameron, handing the B team Dragons a two-point loss.
Trenton was led in by Jadan Whitney with five points, four rebounds and four steals. Colton Colston had four points, five rebounds, and two steals and Austin Admire chipped in with two points and a rebound. Hunter Trask added two points and two rebounds while Rodney Lawrence had two points, a rebound and two steals. Nick Shields had two rebounds and two steals, Nate Carter had a rebound, and James Knight had four rebounds.
All four TMS teams will play again on Monday, Dec. 9, traveling to Bethany for a four-game set with South Harrison that begins at 4:30 p.m.
