Deer Totals Down This Year

The 2013 deer season has ended, with a large drop in the number killed statewide.
According to information provided by Grundy County Conservation Agent Jeff Berti, a total of 157,466 deer were killed statewide, a decrease of 47,512 over last year. He said weather, a lack of hunters and Epizootic Hermorrhagic Disease has had an effect on the totals.
In Grundy County, 970 deer were killed, which is 194 less
