Preschool and kindergarten students from Pleasant View R-6 School made their annual visit to the Shatto Milk Company on Friday, Sept. 27. The dairy allowed students to milk a cow, pet the baby calves, see where the cows lived, what they eat and how they are milked. Students learned how the milk was processed and watched how it was packaged in the famous glass milk bottles, along with seeing how the bottles are washed before reusing. The tour ended with tasting many of the flavored milks Shatto has to offer. Before leaving the dairy, students ate picnic style outdoors.
