Lady Bulldogs Riding Hot Streak, Top Hogan Prep
The Trenton High School volleyball team was victorious for the third time in its past four matches on Monday night, scoring a 25-18, 25-13 win over Hogan Prep.
Trenton was able to do just enough to pick up the win in the first game and then buried Hogan in the second game. Trenton worked its way out to a 15-6 lead and then cruised, taking game two by 12 points and securing the match victory in the process.
Lakisha Hughs and Courtney Weyer were a force at the net all match long, tallying five kills each. Alex Ewald led Trenton with 11 digs and had six assists in the contest. Sarah Walker added a block and Lyric Nolan had two aces.
With the win, Trenton improved to 4-8 on the season. The Lady Bulldogs will look to continue their recent run of success tonight, traveling to Hamilton to face a Lady Hornets squad they have already beaten once this season. Trenton will host Plattsburg on Monday in Trenton. That match begins at 5 p.m.
Trenton’s junior varsity was in action on Monday night as well and also scored a victory over Hogan Prep, winning 25-10, 25-19.
Nolan served well in the JV match as well, collecting six aces. Nolan also had three kills and a block in the win. Jasmyn French had three kills and a block as well and Nikki Hagan had five assists. Morganne Farmer had six digs for the Lady Bulldogs junior varsity.
The Trenton JV will also be in action tonight at Hamilton.
