The Trenton Lady Bulldogs golf team took another step forward on Monday at the Riverside Country Club as Caitlin McNabb scored medalist honors at a dual with Putnam County. Trenton couldn’t quite score its first dual victory of the season, however, as the Lady Bulldogs’ team score of 224 fell nine strokes shy of Putnam County’s mark of 215.
McNabb shot a 50 and was followed by Lauren Schmidt, who gave Trenton its second lowest total with a 55. Sheridan Jamvold carded a 59 and Jordain Oshel rounded out the team total with a score of 60. Abby Gonzalez was also in varsity action, shooting a 64.
“It was a great day for our girls,” Trenton Coach Jeremy Austin said. “Three scores in the 50’s and a medal winner. I’m proud of how quickly we are improving.”
The girls didn’t get much of a rest following the dual as Trenton returned to the links today, traveling to Gallatin for the Gallatin Tournament. The Lady Bulldogs will be back home on Thursday, hosting Marceline in a dual at the Riverside Country Club in Trenton. Tee time for that event is set for 4 p.m.
